5th LAWASIA moot court competition

The moot problem for the 5th LAWASIA International Moot, 2010, is now out. This moot will be held in conjunction with 23rd LAWASIA Conference to be held from 10th -14th November 2010.
Other important details:

1.11th June- Deadline for request for clarifications

2. 13th July- last date for registration.

3. 10th September- Deadline for submission of memorials and list of authorities.

4. Problem- This year's Problem involves a dispute between an international pharmaceutical company which owns all patent rights on a new drug (The "Miracle Cure") and the Director of Intellectual Property of a small country which has authorized the domestic production and importation of the patented drug without the patent owner's permission in order to treat a serious disease ("killer flu") which has infected many of its people. In addition, the Director has arranged for the importation of a very similar drug manufactured by the pharmaceutical company's biggest competitor which has been held to infringe the company's patents in other counties under the so-called doctrine of equivalents.
The principal issues relate to the obligations imposed on WTO members to protect the intellectual property rights of foreign companies and access to medicine under TRIPS.

World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, 2010

Hello HNLU!,

The details for the World Human Rights Moot Court
Competition, 2010 are now out [www.up.ac.za/law]. (A notification of this moot had been put
up on the hnlu notice board in the last semester). The registration is
by the 15th of July, 2010. However, the last date for clarification of
the moot problem will be... 5th of June, 2010. Therefore, it is requested
that the interested teams submit their clarifications to the mcc, via
the official email id i.e. mcc.hnlu@gmail.com. The MCC will mail the doubts to
the organisers and mail the answers back to the interested members.
